To Elaborate...

Thanks for commenting on some posts, Tabs! Miss you too and love to hear from you! Ok, well, I am taking the advice of what I'm reading and I am going out to lunch and a movie with a few people from work tomorrow. Thinking about the dynamics of work and friends and general happiness in life and at work, I guess it all makes sense. I do think I need to put out the disclaimer that although I've never gone out with friends from work, I have always (mostly :)) bonded with my co-workers and so that has also been a key component to loving my job. Plus, working 12 hour shifts along side someone... you hope you at least can tolerate the personality!

I put in a PICC (successfully) today! WooHoo! Without going into detail, suffice to say that you need special training as an RN to put them in... and now I've been there, done that! Got an adrenaline rush afterwards that I haven't had for awhile at work.

All this talk about work... hmmm, sleepy. Goodnight!

Hump Day

streetttch! Just waking up for work and woke up early enough to pay some bills and sort through mail. (Really, it was because I went to bed EARLY last night... I was tired.)

You know, I 've always loved my job and have never hated going into work, but always assumed that it's because I work in the most satisfying unit in the hospital- NICU! And, although I've gotten close to co-workers, my social life was completely with friends outside of work (two were seperate). Recently, I'm reading that loving your job might have a lot to do with relationships at work. It surprised me to hear that if you don't have a friend at work you are more likely to have decreased productivity and overall be unhappy (in personal life, too). Just goes to show that relationships are important and any management would be wise to foster social networks! Have fun at work and outside work with co-workers... what a concept.

Right Back Where I Started

Weellll, my cousin Naomi's recent blogging inspired me to get back to writing here (and making this blog public... which might not stay this way too long)! It has been a crazy couple of months with friends, work, car accidents, sister moving out- of- state and etcetera! Although I don't have the time to get you all up to speed, I do want to hope that it will all come later.

Naomi, I hope you read this because I wanted to say I enjoyed catching up on what is going on with you through your blog. Fun to see the pics of everything. Looks like you've got some great ideas. I would be a "yay" vote for getting new shoes. I think you should have new, special, wedding shoes :) Kudos for whoever picked the GORgeous ring, though! And, obviously your happiness with Florin is beautiful.

Christmas with a capital C!

Christmas Eve! Great service at CCV tonight. Helped me get in the right frame of mind. Holiday sales, santas, snowmen, stress.. all fade away when you focus on the simple beauty of the reason for celebration- God with us.

Have to work tomorrow and through Saturday. Nurses just don't get great vacays!

Working on some improvements in my life. Feeling good and with direction.

Another topic. Was at a friends house for a little party recently. Met friends of my friend that I have heard about in the past. We mix like oil and water. I kept thinking how they were acting annoying and immature. Might be my personal problem. Better to be alone than be around people that you don't love? Maybe I need to make more of an effort?

Let It Be

It's been quite awhile since I've written anything and it's not from lack of wanting. I find myself with a little free time this Sunday evening and also with a pensive air, and so it seems appropriate to sit for a spell and write. Beyond other things that are giving me an ulcer right now, I must confess I am spending a lot of time thinking about my faith (lack of) and how I wish I could get a "revelation" like the Third Day song belts out. Wouldn't it be so easy if I could just touch the intangible, hear the voice of the One who speaks all around me but I seem to be deaf to, or feel the touch of love that I know encompasses me. I can't feel Him, I don't see Him and my words of love are devoid of emotion. But what I know, I know for sure. Lord, help my unbelief. I won't part from You. I will continue to seek. To cry. To hope. All the happy people with all the happy faces- is anyone feeling the way I feel?
I do love Christmas. I love the carols, the lights, the excitement, and the feeling of good will towards men. Thank you for turning the world upside down with Jesus' birth, God! I love it.
When I read a book I [sometimes] am so impressed with the imagination and creativity of the story that I wonder why my life's story doesn't have that richness. You are more creative than any simple author anywhere, God! So, author of my life.... will the page turn to an interesting sentence soon? Then, I remember; it's all about You. So, let it be. Let it be. Let it be a song so sweet- let it be.
