Shake the Dust Off

Census is REALLY low at work and so I've had more time off than I wanted these past few weeks. I think I need to find some supplemental employment. It has never felt "normal" working 3 days a week (12 hour shifts). So, we'll see what else is out there. I have an idea of something that I want to try that isn't nursing related... so I need to investigate that. More details later if something comes of it. It might just be another one of my hundreds of ideas that never take fruition.

I did something fun this weekend and helped out with shooting a wedding. A friend from work does photography on the side (but she is super good) and since she knew I am a total amateur but like to dabble in the creative arts, she loaned me her Nikon D70 and I was instructed to do my own thing and then she'll show me how to photoshop, etc. I got the cutest text from her last night. It said, "lots of great pictures little grasshopper..." it definitely made me lol.

The wedding reception was at a home in Phoenix (Glendale, really) and it was beautiful; the home, that is. Some of my favorite parts: the massive, wooden door with the HUmongou-est planters flanking the door, dining room table to sit 12, wooden beams on the ceiling of the great room, the fountain on the patio out back, the balcony and stucco staircase on the back of the house and of course no neighbors when you're out in the backyard. Oh, to have luxuries!

It seems like it's been forever since I posted. I guess I've lost sight of what this blogging thing is about- really, it's just another journal. So, I don't have to worry about actually having something to say. I do still worry about my layout, though :) I don't like the background and I think it is impeding my efforts at writing posts.

Sun Bathing?

I dropped my mom off at the airport (Sky Harbor in Phoenix) today and as I was passing the cell phone lot I noticed this guy. Think he had some time to wait? Yes, that's a pillow under his head and he IS shirtless and reading a book. Nevertheless, I had to pull into the lot and take a picture with my cell phone before I drove home. Definitely made me smile today!

-Pick up mom from Prescott
-Wrap gift for baby shower I am not attending tonight
-Get Gift for engagement party
-Go to Heather's engagement party
-Hopefully chat with Erica if she's in town
Tomorrow
-CCV in the morning
-Take mom back to Prescott
-Go out with Erica or meet up with Rhonda
... and then Monday it's back to work.. hmm.

About Time

Ok, Ok, I know it's been WAY too long! I can't write a long post right now because it's late and I have an early day. I'm gonna add some pics from my Scotland vacation in November. (Tab, you inspired me bc I just read your blog and LOVE it!)

Flew into Manchester, England and then took a train up to Glasgow, Scotland and then ended up in Dunoon where Rhonda's aunt and uncle lived- they were great!!

One of the many Lochs we visited. I think this is Loch Lomond. Later on our trip we visited Loch Ness (when we were up in the Highlands) and I saw the Loch Ness Monster. Yikes!



Sometimes the Lochs were so calm the reflections were like looking in a mirror.
