Smiling Face

Watching my dvr shows this summer (actually trying to get through them all) and there's this Oprah show where she interviews Toni Morrison and the lesson I'm taking away is: let your face light up when a child enters the room so they can know you love them. I often think that I would want a baby... but not a child. I know I'm being ridiculous but kids are so much work. They deserve the best from us adults, though. So why have a baby if you can't nurture and love them like they deserve?

Back!

Alrighty, I'm gonna get back into blogging. It's about time! To the purpose of being a bit more revealing, I have decided to stop making it available for public viewing. Let's see if this works.

Bus Fuss

I had 3, count 'em 1-2-3, days off!!!! Tomorrow I return to work and let's just say it's gonna be a long stretch. I got my dad's car detailed today and it looks 95% fabulous. Man, just don't have kids if you want an immaculate "inside" of your car. I dropped the car off thinking it would only be a 90 minute wait and I was prepared with a book, but the guy tells me it'll be 2 hours. So, I decided to take public transportation (the bus) for the first time (first time in Phx). Well, I sat on a sticky bench at the corner and waited about 25 minutes for the bus. Learned that they only circulate every 30 minutes... who has time to wait that long? Then, didn't know you need exact change (it's a buck seventy- five) so I ended up purchasing a full day pass because the smallest bill I had was a five and full day pass is $5.25.

I took a fun trip down Bell Road to the mall. After shopping for a couple of hours (saving my money so I only spent $70) I headed outside to catch the bus back to the car place. Well, ended up chatting with a talkative stranger on the way back and wrapped up my first bus ride in the valley. It was fun.... and time consuming.

Know IT Alls!

I know I've been accused of being a "know it all" before... but not lately :) And, it just figures that I butted heads with a "know it all" yesterday. She IRKED me! I know I should let it roll off my back but I got angry because person mentioned "the many years she worked at one facility"! I didn't feel the need to mention the many years I've worked at MULTIPLE level 3 NICUs! Said incident is work related and so I won't go into details but I do just want to vent and say:

If ever you are stating your opinion or what you think is factual, try to give a reason for why you believe what you're saying. It is not enough to say, "I've never had an issue with it". That doesn't mean the issue doesn't exist. And, although it may NEVER be an issue at your workplace, I do believe there is a standard of practice out there and in my daily practice I will try to do & be better at even the smallest detail.... which may never even cause me a problem.

AnyWHO.... I'm now over it.

Baby Love

Work has taken over my life. Never a good thing when the hospital is busy, but I'll just think of it as families getting the care they need. July was a BIG month for deliveries! Working at 2 valley hospitals right now so that is why I've stayed busy. All my co- workers seem to be giving birth, too! So exciting to see little baby pics go up on the door at work. And soon Alina (big sis) will be giving birth, too! Can't wait to welcome another little girl! This "babies being born" thing really does neVER get old!! And here is a picture of Carter- my godson:
